Sponsorship Opportunities

DMO Empowered 2.0 is TTIA's brand-new program designed specifically for DMO Executives to help them improve relevancy and strengthen presence in their community. This is a continuation of the original DMO Empowered program, but offers new content making it perfect for new and former program participants.

The new 2.0 program will provide the DMO Executive with the necessary tools essential to develop a new, or improve their existing, advocacy plan and to learn new methods of implementation. In today's world, a successful DMO advocacy plan is a must.

As a participant in this program, you will:
  1. Learn how to create, update, and move your own advocacy plan forward.
  2. Learn how to influence without authority.
  3. Learn new ways of developing and interacting with stakeholders.
  4. Walk away with an updated version of your DMO advocacy plan and different ways to implement it.

Why should you attend? What problem does this program solve?

DMO Empowered 2.0 solves the most common issue DMOs face: How to have influence in your community to get the support your organization needs to strengthen travel and tourism in your community. DMO’s are always in a position of needing to influence their stakeholders, city officials and citizens, but have no authority over them. This program will teach you ways to influence your stakeholders to make a positive impact.

What’s the difference between DMO Empowered 2.0 and the original DMO Empowered program?

In the original program, attendees were taught the importance of their position in their community, the importance of local advocacy, and how to translate their statistics into a language their city officials, stakeholders, and citizens can understand. Attendees returned to their office with their own advocacy plans. In the 2.0 version, attendees will learn how to actually put their advocacy plan into action and how to develop influence in their community.

Why should I return for DMO Empowered 2.0 if I attended the original program?

This is new content. In the original program, you created your own advocacy program, but we didn’t take that next step of implementing your plan. At DMO Empowered 2.0, you will learn additional methods of influencing city officials and stakeholders in your community and how to implement your advocacy program.

What is the number one benefit I will receive by attending?

You will create an updated advocacy plan and will leave with the tools to implement the plan as soon as you return to your city. Gain confidence and learn how to speak up for what you need to promote travel to your community. Create community support for your DMO and communicate the value you provide. Learn new ways to influence city officials, stakeholders, hotels, restaurants, retail, attractions, museums, and influential citizens.

Shari Lee

Don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what attendee Shari Lee, General Manager and Vice President of Conventions at Visit Tyler, has to say about her experience attending DMO Empowered:

“I am very happy to say that I attended the DMO Empowered program.  At the time that I attended the class, our budget season in Tyler was just beginning and I was asking for additional funding.  I was in need of specialized training to help with my presentation to the city.  Because the class was well-structured and informative, I was able to create a presentation full of facts that provided a clear picture of success for our organization. The amount of funding that I asked for was granted by the city.  I am very grateful for the preparation that the DMO Empowered Program gave me.  It is definitely the best class that I have taken in my 22-year career. I highly recommend it to all my industry friends.”
